Your skills / time:

• Hobby / skills workshops e.g. art / dance
• On-the-job training opportunities
• Enterprise development consultancy / advice
• Coaching sports teams
• Craft ideas
• Become a mentor to a child / young person
• Some of the young people we work with struggle with English so it would be great to come up with ideas about things they can make and sell.

Mentors are subject to a criminal check and trained and supervised by the MPOWER team

Material needs:

• Become an educational sponsor to a child / young person
• Money for public transport for MPOWER beneciaries to and from training opportunities / interviews
• Airtime for keeping in touch with MPOWER beneciaries and making arrangements
• Prepaid data bundles for e-mail / internet use
• Daycare sponsorship for young children while carers are looking for work / working
• Sponsorship for leadership courses / experiences / wilderness trail
• Cell phones – smart phones (please recycle your old phones when you upgrade and consider donating to us!)
• Sponsorship for more mentors’ salaries
• Sponsorship of an MPOWER-branded car

Creating awareness:

• Raising awareness through publishing media articles about MPOWER and the work we do
• Forwarding on any news-related information about child or youth-headed families, youth from disadvantaged backgrounds and education and popular attitudes to these subjects
• Follow and promote MPOWER on Facebook and Twitter
